Holiday season # 11 Toronto

After Christmas we spent a couple of days in Toronto, we love this city! We started of with a favorite, the Ontario Science Museum.

The next day was freezing cold, -16 (with windchill -24), but we made a great walk through Chinatown.

We ended up in the Ontario Art Gallery where we enjoyed the contemporary art, the Frans Hals paintings and the kids hands-on area.

Yes, Public Transport!!! Kids sooo excited in the Metro of Toronto.

And on the CN tower!

We all stand on the glass floor, Colette had to be pushed by Robert, he was proud he accomplished this:)

Kathelijne couldn't get enough of this new perspective of Toronto!

Toronto by night is great!

The skating rink at the Nathan Phillips Square.

With the happy New Year Bash 2010 preparations from City TV.

So, what do you like the most of Toronto? The CN tower and the street cars and metro of TTC!

Holiday Season # 10 Christmas

On Christmas Eve, after the torch event, the kids left the cookies and milk for Santa and the carrots for reindeer at the chimney.

Eline and Colette went to the Christmas Mass in the Cathedral downtown. Afterward we looked at the Nativity Scene in Victoria Park and loved the skating fun with carols.
Picture will follow:)
On Christmas day the kids were delighted that Santa left presents under the tree and in the stocking!

And we had a nice Christmas dinner with the Zevenhuizen family!

Holiday Season #6 Santa is in town

Santa is in town! He visited the Diamond Aircraft kids.

And Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus visited Kathelijne's school.

Santa played the guitar and they sang songs!

And Kathelijne was very happy with the ornament that her teachers Wendy en Jen gave her! It's her symbol with her picture on it:)

Holiday season #5 Canadian Pacific Holiday Train

We went to see the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train, a beautiful decorated 'Coca Cola' Christmas train with a show of Santa and his band playing Christmas songs.

The train travels through the US and Canada, all to support the Food banks. So there we went with our bag full of donations, in the pouring rain.

And Santa handed out the candy canes.

Holiday season #4 Nutcracker

We went to the Nutcracker Ballet performed by the Ontario Ballet, the meet and greet with the dancers after the show was as an extra attraction!

Holiday season #3 Lights in Victoria Park

Victoria Park is decorated with thousands of lights and decorations. We want to the park to see ceremony of the lights being lit. It is beautiful! We can't wait to skate in the park with the light on...

Holiday season #2 Christmas tree u cut

Kathelijne and her class had a field trip to find the perfect tree for in the classroom. They picked it themselves and cut it out of the field.

We did the same with our family, and we found our perfect tree as well!

Complete with wagon ride through the woods.

Kathelijne is in charge of driving the car with the tree on top.
We loved the warm chocolate and the marshmallows to roast in the fire pit.

A fun day in rural Ontario...
