Apples Apples Apples fieldtrip

At the super market we buy the Washington State Golden Delicious, but what is better then to pick your own Ontario grown apples from the tree?
Kathelijne and her class went on a field trip at Apple land to find out all about how apples and pumpkins grow.

We went to apple land with Robert and his friends, and one time after school with all three kids. It was great fun to pick the apples, see the animals and play at the sand hill!


Hand picked apples are the best!


We love the sand hill!!!

Finger Lakes in NY part 3

Thanksgiving day in Canada or Columbus day in the US, so one more day of fun, whine tasting!

And picking wild flowers in the field.

No Columbus day for the one room school of the Amish, horse carriage is parked at the school, school is on.

And the daily errands never end...

Finger Lakes NY part 2

The next day we went to see the Buttermilk Falls in Ithaca. The Amish were on the road as well with there buggies.

Our little hikers went all the way to the top.

And they still had energy after the long hike to play in the great playground (they know how to build great playground in the States...).





And we saw this covered bridge on the country roads.

And the one room school of the Amish one block from our cottage.

Finger Lakes NY part 1

We spend a great Thanksgiving weekend with the Veltman family at the Fingerlakes in New York! We had a cottage at Keuka Lake, halfway between Long Island and London, it was perfect to see again after a year!

Hanna and Eline were happy to see each other again.


The Lake was great, even for some 'pootje baden' :)

Beautiful upstate New York!


And we made a great hike at Watkins Glen State Park.
