Victoria Day weekend

This year's Victoria Day weekend had Summer like temperatures up 'till 85F/28C we decided to go to Michigan.

When you are in the Detroit area you can't miss the automobile industry, this time we visited the Chrysler Museum.

What a great old and new cars...




Lake Huron from the US side is also beautiful.





And we did some gardening and water fun in our back yard:)

And relax in the hammock...

Eline has her 8th birthday today!

Celebrate the weekend in Huron County

Mothers day / birthday 2010, a good reason to go on a road trip and explore Ontario! This time we drove up to Huron County and enjoyed the lake, some nice museums in Goderich and a wonderful food en drinks in a bistro in Bayfield.

A storm gusting up to 100 km/h made look Lake Huron pretty spectacular.

As Aruba, not a day for a high maintenance hair due:)

A Dutch Heritage monument in Goderich.

The Gaol in Goderich was great to explore, though the bars and cells were a bit scary...

And so was the museum with a lot of history of Ontario.

And a great old steam engine!

School fun

Robert had the honour to be the student of the month and was handed out his reward by Ms. Giese!


And Kathelijne had a great fieldtrip to the Van Horik Greenhouse (yes, in Canada, not Holland).

Kathelijne loves to hear all about plants and seeds, and she loves her best friend Alex!

This fieldtrip was an inspiration to do more gardening at home!

Spring swim

April and May gave us some GREAT warm summer days. Robert and Kathelijne were lucky to be invited by William to come over to their pool for a spring swim. They LOVED it!

Forest City Run and Dutch Memorial

We participated with the Forest City Run 2010 in Victoria Park.
Masonville School had quite a lot of participants!

And since it was almost 4th and 5th of May (Remembrance and Liberation Day in Holland), we took a look at the Dutch Memorial of the Liberation of the Netherlands.
