Baby raccoons

This Thursday evening, when I was sitting on the deck, our resident bandit (a raccoon that frequently messes up our garbage can) wandered in the backyard followed by two youngsters. It was a very cute sight, but I think we have to start tying down our garbage really tight from now on. Mom has her little helpers now.

As soon as she spotted me, she gave me a nasty look (the little face mask really makes them look like a bunch of rascals) and then started towards the space under our deck. After a while they went into our neighbors yard and climbed up a tree where mom must have heard a nest. A couple of birds was pretty nervously flying around, trying to chase the raccoons.
